GAZA
The war in Gaza is heartbreaking due to the humanitarian crisis that is
ongoing. The ever present media coverage is disappointing! The bombed out
buildings will take time to rebuild. The disruption to social life is
permanent. The people in Gaza are refugees in their own homes, towns, villages
and cities. Jerusalem is a safe place to be a refugee. The holy city would not
likely be bombed!

Grace
Greetings!
Grace is ever present in our life, which is offered to us by God abundantly. The benevolence we share among each other is a testimony of love for creation and its salvation. Paul in the I Corinthian text calls us to worship as a means to strengthen our spiritual body in relation to God. We have much symbolic Christian art which competes with worldly distractions. You know how hard it can be to make up your mind. For instance we learn to work and continue that path in hopes of prosperity. That pattern to adhere to the right thing is favorable in our life.

This book begins with understanding of bible study. How a person may question what she or he is reading in the Bible. Likewise there are different settings were people learn in church, madrasas, home, over the phone in a prayer chain and so on. The bible study question are full and very informative when used as study materials. The guide is in the previous chapter reading.

Jacob
Genesis 32:22-31
Jacob received the Word of God by way of a Blessing. He struggled all night wrestling with the Spirit. This happened in Penuel, east of the Jordan River and south of the river Jabbok. Jacob claimed Peniel to be the place where he saw the Face of God, yet not destroyed! He also received a new name Israel, because of association with man and God.
Looks like something out of Africa doesn't it.

Nehemiah 2: 7-8
'If it pleases the king, may I have letters to the governors of Trans-Euphrates, to that they will provide my safe-conduct until I arrive in Judah? ... And because the gracious hand of God was on me, the king granted my requests.

Gospel according to Matthew 3.3-17
John the Baptist was baptizing by water in the river Jordan. Jesus came from Galilee and requested that John baptize him. Shocked John claimed that Jesus should be baptizing him. John is persuaded by Jesus's claim to fulfill righteousness. Communities today would do well to include women and children while keeping governments and states afloat. Let us pray, the divide between have and have nots close in the name of righteousness!

Thanksgiving for a Good Harvest
23rd Sunday after Pentecost
PSALM 65
Praise is due to you,
O God, in Zion;
and to you shall vows be performed,
2. O you who answer prayer!
To you shall all flesh come
3. When deeds of iniquity overwhelm us,
you forgive our trangressions.
4. Happy are those whom you choose and bring near,
to live in your courts!
We shall be satsified with the
goodness of your house,
your holy temple!
5. By awesome deeds you answer us with deliverance,
O God of our salvation,
you are the hope of all the ends of the earth
and of the farthest seas;
6. By your strength you established the mountains;
you are girded with might.
7. You silence the roaring of the seas,
the roaring of the waves,
the tumult of the peoples.
8 Those who live at earth's farthest bounds are awed by you signs;
you make the gateways of the mornings and the evening shout for joy.
9. You visit the earth and water it,
you greatly enrich it;
the river of God is full of water;
you provide the people with grain,
for so you have prepared it.
10. You water its furrows abundantly,
settling its ridges,
softening it with showers,
and blessing its growth.
11. You crown the year with your bounty;
your wagon tracks overflow with richness.
12 The pastures of the wilderness overflow,
the hills grid themselves with joy,
13. the meadows clothe themselves with flocks,
the valleys deck themselves with grain,
they shout and sing together for joy.

First Reading
Lamentation 1.1-6
Psalm 137
How we feel oppressed and endure shame, anger and feel little grace
from God our heavenly father is reaching out. Pray and question how
the person with no sense of righteousness gets ahead and we seem
fall further into the pit.
Second Reading
II Timothy
Also my ancestors were enslaved. Righteousness prevailed and they
were freed.
Slavery would create ripe situations for cowards and little compassion
for those willing to fight a foe that could not be easily defeated.
We need to overcome fear! Sharing your religion is good for your
soul and an indept recognition that we can have compassion
toward each other
Gospel
Luke 17.5-10
The mustard seed carries enough faith that it will move mountains.
Our inheritance from Abraham gives us an idea on how to have and
be faithful to God Almighty. By all means we should do our duty.

Let Tomorrow take Care of Itself
When I was younger I always asked my parents how to meet a deadline!They answered me from two points of reference, the Holy Bible andthe remains of cultural traditions. I find no better story in the
Bible than the section in Matthew chapter 6 verses 25 through 34.Likewise I have located an Ashanti proverb from reasons told to them by both their Mothers. Every thing I needed my parents provided. Along the way I had lessons on being independent and taking care of myself. I felt life was beautiful and pleasant. My allowance could even be extended for special purposes, just by asking. Today, our society would be more civil and tolerant if people took the time to ask along with being courteous to others.
Scripture:
MT verse 26... Fowls of the air, for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns... yet your heavenly father feeds them.
Verse 28... Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow, they toil not, neither do they spin:
Verse 29... Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
Verse 30... if God so clothe the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith...
Verse 31... take no thought what shall we eat? what shall we drink? or shall we be clothed...
Verse 32... your heavenly Father knows that ye have needs of all things...
Verse 33... seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness...
Verse 34... Take therefore no thought for the morrow, for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself better than they. Sufficient unto the day
Reading daily bible study has shown me yesterday and given me a guide for today. I can make a purple skirt now on my own. I didn't realize that in the beginning.
Ashanti Proverb
No one ties up a wisdom-bag, and takes it and puts it away in a box and comes and stands in the courtyard and says, 'Explain the matter to me.'
What wisdom tells us it that God is responsible for Creation!

Cold and Flu - Flu prevalence in the US- MSN Healthy Living
The flu I can tell you from personal experience is real painful to your body; especially the upper body. The aches only go away with prescribed pain medication like Tylenol with codine. We all need to help ourselves be healthy from one year to the next by taking a flu shot. When a flu shot is taken early there is less risk of being infected. Another reason is that being around young children in the same household you should take the vaccine. To health and happiness in our neighborhoods around the US!
