FaithNet NAMI | Interfaith Worship Service

The responsive reading is part of the worship service. African American traditions see that as "call and response" handed down orally for generations. Church attendees can find any number of responsive readings listed by season in the hymnal. This is another opportunity to improve Christian Education. Not only are we hearing the spoken word we actively participate by affirmation of the text whether it is Biblical or poetry or essay readings. The great commission of the church is to teach and spread the good news. Denominational churches offer any number of literary guides to membership and spiritual maturity. Growing the church comes from the spirit and attitude of abundance; even if it is evangelism. Our mission where righteousness is put forth certainly includes being right minded and having a spirit of hope toward our neighbors.
